Our Lady of the Valley Wedding
Chris and Becky Williamson were married on Saturday, July 12; two and a half years after they met. Becky went to Auburn to visit her best friend, Joseph, and met his roommate – Chris! They had been dating for about a year when Chris proposed. They were at the beach with Becky’s family and were taking a walk by the water’s edge one night. Chris kept trying to get Becky to walk up to a particular sand dune, and when she finally agreed, she was happily surprised by his proposal and her engagement ring!
Their wedding and reception were both held at Our Lady of the Valley on Saturday, July 12. Despite the heat, we got some great images outside. Chris presented Becky with his gift of the bridal bouquet at their first look.
We took a few minutes to get a classic bridal portrait of gorgeous Becky!
The after-the-wedding photographs were made especially fun by Father Vu who insisted on a selfie with the bride and groom!
Chris and Becky did most of the photos before the wedding but did take some time after the wedding for family photos. One of their favorite wedding party images features the shoes that Chris and Becky got for everyone!
Becky’s advice to brides regarding photography is to allow plenty of time for photos to avoid feeling rushed. Her vendors: Ricky Whitley, Florist (“amazing!”); Happy Catering (“yummy!”); Feel the Beat, DJ (got everyone dancing!); Jessica Tucker, Hair/Make-up (“I felt beautiful!”); and Diane’s Formal Affair, Wedding Dress (“wonderful”).
The reception was a lot of fun! Everyone was dancing and having a great time!
Time for the garter and bouquet toss, and the last dance before leaving for their honeymoon.
Although Becky is shy and was nervous about there being so many people around, she happily reports that everyone got along and had a blast at their wedding. Her final words of advice to brides: “Have fun and try not to let the stress get to you. At the end of the day, you will be married to the person you love, and that will make your day perfect.”
Congratulations to Becky and Chris – may they have many, many years of “happily ever after.”
