First Fridays – Helena
A couple of months ago a new merchant came to the Helena Business Association meeting to talk about some activities that she was involved with when she had a store in another small town. One of the ideas was First Friday where stores would be open late and stores in the area but not in the immediate “downtown” area would have booths where they could show off their services and products. As the Facebook page describes First Fridays: First Friday is a family-friendly event being held monthly to encourage our citizens to shop local, spend local & volunteer local.
The new merchant’s name is Kim McCoy, and she owns a children’s clothing store Tougie Baby on the main street of Helena. We are lucky to have her as one of the newest members of our community! Her friend Leslie Quick Bartlett (who also happens to serve on Helena’s City Council) was very helpful to getting First Fridays off to a smashing start. Kim has posted many thank you’s on the First Fridays Facebook page. Be sure to bookmark the Facebook page!
The participation was amazing for a first event…check out the almost 60! vendors who were here on the map.
As the first First Friday official photographer, I took a few photos of the participants…enjoy these documentary photos and put the first Friday of December on your calendar for another fun filled night in Old Town Helena!
